Skillset Media Academy benefits to students
In addition to the opportunities offered by the individual courses, some of which have individual course accreditation from Skillset (BA Film at Newport Film School, BA Animation at the ATriuM, University of Glamorgan and at Newport Film School), being part of the largest Skillset Media Academy partnership in the UK also offers added benefits:
- Close links with industry and our expanded Industry Liaison Panel
- Access to an exclusive online network for media students, tutors and professionals
- Placements and support to develop your career
- Access to professional short courses and industry conferences through Skillset Academi+
- Networking events with students and graduates from a wider range of courses, and with Industry Panel members and guests
- Collaborative opportunities with students from other media disciplines (advertising design, creative music, photography, film, interactive media and more)
- Opportunities to promote student work to the wider industry and Media Academy networks
- Opportunities to work on live briefs and charity projects
The partnership embraces both south and mid-Wales, ensuring geographical spread, and teaching in both English and Welsh and is a ‘creative cluster' promoted by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) and the Wales Assembly Government (WAG).
