Integral to the Nottingham Skillset Media Academy is the development of employable and entrepreneurially-minded graduates, who can work anywhere in the world.

The Academy enables students from a wide variety of backgrounds to engage with a ladder of opportunity and attain different skills at a variety of levels. Students are engaged in multiplatform and interactive content for both national and international markets.

A range of media roles are catered for, including art directors and assistants, content producers, film and television editors, 3D animators, interactive media designers, sound technicians, props, costume makers, games designers, radio and television production and broadcasters, mobile film content providers, and journalists.

The Academy offers a wide provision for a large community of students with partners from Higher and Further education, as well as vocational training, professional services and an independent cinema, which provides incubator opportunities with a suite of offices for small business and freelance partners working in film and media. The Academy also offers research, consultancy and continuing professional development.

To benefit from the Academy students must be enrolled on one of the Skillset approved courses.
