The Arts University College at Bournemouth
Bournemouth Skillset Media Academy, a partnership of the Arts University College and the University's Media School, is the largest centre of professional higher education for the media industries in the UK.
It specialises in:
- film
- television and radio production
- interactive media
- scriptwriting
- sound design
- post production
- media management
- multi-media journalism
- traditional and computer animation
- public relations
- advertising and marketing.
Its courses and activities range from pre-HE through Foundation, BA and Masters to PhDs and programmes designed especially for industry and the community.
It possesses film studios, television studios, interactive media labs, radio studios and a suite of facilities including a Writers' Studio, a Post Production lab, an HD screening room, a Design Studio and a cinema-standard film theatre.
It also has an enterprise business centre on the campus designed to develop new and existing companies as a bridge between media education and the creative industries.
The Academy has Skillset accreditation in Animation, Computer Animation and in two Scriptwriting degrees and industry accreditation in Interactive Media and Journalism.
It includes the National Centre for Computer Animation, the Centre for Broadcasting History Research, the UK's only Centre of Excellence in Media Practice, funded by HEFCE, and the former Bournemouth Screen Academy.
Across this breadth it stands alone in the film and media arena - nurturing talent, enhancing industry and producing graduates who will shape the future of the creative industries within the emerging cross-platform media environment.
