A successful partnership between Napier University and Edinburgh College of Art, Screen Academy Scotland: A Skillset Film and Media Academy is Scotland's, and one of the UK's, largest centres of excellence in professional screen and media skills.
Since becoming a Skillset Film Academy in 2005* it has enhanced the range and quality of its provision. Now, as a Skillset Film and Media Academy it offers a comprehensive range of high-level programmes and CPD including image, sound, performance, production and post production.
The Academy works in partnership with industry, and Further and Higher Education to provide a comprehensive web of provision, and it is linked to UK, European and global networks.
Its degree programmes range from BA (Hons) to MFA across an extensive range of disciplines including:
- Animation
- Film practice
- Interactive Media
- Journalism (BJTC accredited)
- Photography
- Producing & screen project development
- Screenwriting (Skillset accredited)
- Television
The Academy's staff are drawn from, and remain active in, professional practice, and extensive use is made of guest speakers and visitors from industry. Students learn using industry standard equipment and facilities supported by dedicated technical staff.
